The Principles of Manual Handling

The Manual Handling Operations Regulations 1992 – Places the responsibility for reducing back injury’s sustained through lifting and handling in the workplace on to Employers. Risk assessment and staff training are proper parts of a safe working practice that can not only prevent a company facing legal action by injured employers but also combat one of the single biggest causes of worker absenteeism in the UK.

There is also now legal precedent for passive ‘video’ training being inadequate in terms of ensuring Manual Handling Training. Training provided through LMS commercial training gives employers the peace of mind that all delegates will have practical demonstrations and practice as part of their instruction and that errors or questions will be fully addressed during the course - in a manner not possible with video presentations.

The principles of Manual Handling course provides the delegate with an overview of the risks involved with moving, lifting and handling and teaches lifting and handling techniques to reduce the risks of potential injury.

Course contents:

  • Health & safety and the law
